With the release of 41 (1994), Swell capped off a trilogy that began, with their self-titled debut (1990), followed by Well (1992). All three albums share a birthplace in SF, at 41 Turk St., Tenderloin District. The music is both moody and exquisitely beautiful, w/ layered songwriting & vocals that are hauntingly persistent. Three decades later, the album's allure hasn't faded in the slightest.
